When life gives you lemons, make a martini

My apartment flooded after Katrina ( I always wanted an apartment with a lake view...I should have been more specific), and the vast majority of my possessions including my late grandmother's furniture was destroyed. I managed to salvage this drawer from her dresser, stained tray table legs to match, and created a kind of butler's tray. It's perfect for keys, mail, and Cleo's leash right by the front door. It's a little cutsier (is that even a word?) than I usually prefer, but it was a way to preserve a little piece of my grandmother (that sounds a little creepy, but you know what I mean.)

I just love you! Another NOLA decor freak, and now a blogger too! We must get together! I live in The Irish Channel. So many of my friends did not make it back & I get a little lonesome. I love your house and your pooch (woof). Good luck with your blog (love the title and reference), and all your house projects (and work projects too) I'm going to check you out at RMS and see if they gave you as much whoop ass as they gave me LOL. They just don't get NOLA. Well a couple of them do :-) - I'm adding you to my blog roll...

My brother promised me a table almost exactly like this one nearly 3 years ago. I hope that one day he will produce it.
