Lost Puppy Love

Last night, our fierce watchdog Cleopatra Schwartz alerted us to an unathuorized visitor to our front porch: It was this little fellow. He has a blue collar but no tag. He's a male, approximately 4-6 mos. old. He's a sweet fellow, appears to be kennel trained. He is very affectionate, seems okay with our cats ( and right now we have 4 in the house--no, I'm not a crazy cat person yet, we are cat sitting), and has been loving playing with our large dog. Ignore my presence in the pics, it was the only was we could stop he and Cleo from playing long enough to take his picture.

Most attempts to photograph them looked like this:
If you are in the New Orleans area and the dog looks familiar or you have the urge for some puppy love and want to adopt him, please contact me via email at hmitchellsettoon@hotmail.com.

Have you tried posting to Craigslist and/or the New Orleans LiveJournal community? That's how I found a lost pup's owner two years ago. Turned out she lived around the corner.

I've posted on craigslist, but I haven't tried the LiveJournal community--I'll certainly give it a try, thanks.

Hey there - I've got some superstar tweeps (@GraceWilson) passing your post around NOLA. I might have a lead on a 'foster' if you don't hear something soon...

Bless your heart for taking him in! I'm miles away in California, but will "send one up" that his owners will contact you (or if he has bad owners, that a new family will adopt him instead).

I am not a fan of craigslist -- there has been too many problems with dog napping for research... but do contact your local Human Society with a picture of the dog the dog can actually stay with you and they should be able to contact you if any inquiries for the lost dog, and ask the local veterinary offices in your area with pictures- another word of caution- make sure they have proof that it is there dog, there should be a dog license, vet's care bills, a purchase recent their own personal photos.. Good Luck for the dear one in going back home, if not I hope you can keep him the dog is beautiful looking critter, Oh by the way that is how I wind up with my dog -- no one claimed him after months of advertising.. now he is with me for five years,,

Do his ears stick up I swear I found his sister in the gutter in Atlanta 3 weeks ago. She is still in my house...vet said ,ay be part pit bull and they get dumped a lot.Named her Dirty Gerty looks exactly alike!!

Jill, he ears didn't stick up...one did go forward and the other backward. The vet told us he was a minature pit bull. He is a real sweetie and I was lucky enough to find a home for him in my neighborhood. Lately when I see him, he's wearing a snazzy red sweater and matching leash. Good luck with Dirty Gerty.
